Emissions
Carbon emissions are directly linked to production and the fuel used for production. It also depends on how much glass is melted and the age of the furnaces. We have calculated our carbon footprint by following the GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard. Scope 1 emissions consist of natural gas and furnace oil (fuel consumption). Scope 2 emissions constitute the grid electricity purchased.
Beyond certain technical initiatives, we plan to commit to science-based target initiatives to align our business with 1.5-degree climate science before 2025, whereas our long term target is to reach net zero by 2050.
